About this track
Wellness content is everywhere; trustworthy guidance for your specific situation is rare. This track teaches you the field skill of determining your basic needs and finding the authoritative source for each one. Eight chapters: from naming what counts as a basic need, through reading guidelines and primary studies, to building your personal source map and knowing when to escalate to a clinician.
What you'll come away with
- Name the seven dimensions of basic need and tell evidence-based need from wellness fashion
- Self-screen across each dimension using validated short instruments
- Navigate authoritative source bodies (CDC, NIH, USDA, USPSTF, Cochrane, NICE)
- Read a clinical guideline well enough to know what its grade language means
- Read a primary study well enough to spot the four numbers that matter
- Spot the nine bad-source anti-patterns
- Know the see-a-doctor triggers and how to bring data to a clinician
- Build and maintain your own personal source map
